Silver Run Chapel — Business Model Pivot
Captured from voice memo 1600 Littlejohn Rd #74 (Matt + Heather conversation). Update Silver Run docs before next Renee conversation.
What Changed
Old model
In current /silver-run/proposal.html, /silver-run/brand.html, and /silver-run/index.html:
- Matt + Heather operate Silver Run Chapel as a wedding venue
- Renee Rice + husband provide the property; we earn equity
- We charge management fees, run events, take a percentage
New model
- Renee owns and runs the venue — full ownership, full operating responsibility
- Renee covers all overhead — building, AC, water, utilities, repairs
- We are a vendor relationship, not an operating partnership
- We pay Renee per wedding (~$500/event) for use of the space
- Our contribution = web design + social media + community connections + The Aisle Expo presence
- At The Aisle Expo, Silver Run Chapel is presented as a venue, not as Renee's personal vendor booth (she does not staff it; we present it)
"She owns it. We're paying her rent to use it. In essence." — Matt, voice memo #74
Why the Pivot
- Simpler for Renee. A complex operating-partnership with revenue shares and management fees was overselling. She just wants someone to come run weddings and pay her a flat amount. Less for her to think through. Less risk of misalignment.
- Cleaner for us. No operational liability for the venue. No overhead exposure. We deliver weddings → we pay her → we keep the wedding revenue. Predictable per-event cost, scalable as the Aisle pipeline brings in weddings.

Open House Decision (also from #74)
- NOT August — too soon, no agreement yet

- Remove all August open house references from current materials
